West End Progressive Association
MEETING OF COMMITTEE At the monthly meeting of the committee of the West End Progressive Association there were present: Alessr* A. W. Just (in the chair), 11. Bovis, L\ S. Skeates, F. J. Fry, J. H. Dalziel, I\ J. Alelhuish and the secretary (Air V Schwabe). An apology for absence was received from Air »Speedy. Air P. Warren gave a lecture on air raid precautions, explaining the dangers of different gases. He outlined the precautions to take if a person is affected by gas. Air Warren had with him a gas mask similar to those which have been issued to the people of England. A letter was read from the City Council stating that the council had decided to erect a light near the West Street railway crossing in Alain Street. The council also wrote giving the names of the streets which are to be tar-sealed this year. It was decided to purchase a cup to Ibe awarded for the best garden in th© Progressive Association’s area. The garden has to be judged on appearance from the roadway. Air Angus was made a new member of committee.
