From the Hub
DEAR COGS, I have to thank “Mama’s Mate” for a very nice pair of bed socks which arrived too late last week for me to acknowledge. These will make someone very happy, I know. We have to welcome three new members to the Big Family so let us all join in wishing them happy associations with the Page and many more interesting contributions. I wonder if any other members will ever reach the fine record of “Powder and Patches” or “Naughty Marietta” ?«a she prefers to be called. She makes it her pleasant duty every week to sit down and rhyme to us. And while we do not want you all trying to rhyme we do like lots of newsy letters such as we have this week. .The letters this week tell me of all sorts of activities, of basketball, examinations and preparations for fancy dress balls. Ido hope you all do well in the examinations and tha you enjoy the balls because they can be great fun, I know. Don’t forget to tell us about your costumes because you know, that is following out one of our pledges, “If you know a good thing pass it on.” Well now I must conclude with good wishes to you all, Your friend, THE HUB.
