Obituary
MR. HORACE BRIGGS CATO The deatli has occurred in Napier recently of Mr. Horace Briggs Cato, a member of a well-known family in the district. Mr. Cato was 67 years of age. Born in Napier, Mr. Cato was a prominent official of the Bank of New Zealand, retiring from tho position of senior teller of the Napier branch about 10 years ago. Previously, ho had been stationed at Gisborne and Woodville. He married Miss Mary Manisty, of Woodvillc, daughter of a solicitor who practised here for many years.
The late Mr. Cato was recognised as a sportsman of wide interests, cricket, athletics, tenuis and football, each claiming a large share of his attention. Sailing was a summer pastime which he enjoyed.
To mourn their loss he left a widow and one son, Mr. Max Cato, of Napier. There are also two brothers, Mr. J. I. Cato, who has retired from the New Zealand Shipping Co., and Mr. C. H. Cato, a retired officer of Messrs, de Pelichet, McLeod and Co., Ltd. Ho also leaves a sister, Mrs. H. Bradley, of Napier.
