Phillipp’s ch c, by Apelle—Molly Adare, 4yrs., 8.12 3 Eight started. Won by three lengths, with a head between second and third. Winner bred by owner and trained by W. Earl at Newmarket. AUREUS SHOULD WIN SOON WOULD ONLY NEED TP REPEAT HER TRACK FORM Among the horses to be offered for sale at Trentham next Wednesday is Mr. Maurice Millar’s four-year-old Gascony—Aureate mare, Aureus. Aureus has been located at Awapuui for some weeks and if her track work is to be taken as an indication, she should win a race in the very near future. Each time she has been asked to go fast in track work she has galloped brilliantly, and on Thursday she carried 10.6 and put up the fastest time of the morning over five. She failed in her race at Otaki last Saturday, but it might not be wise to take much notice of that effort for she covered much extra ground and Was still well in the picture after six furlongs. She has been nominated for each day of the Wellington meeting and would only need to gallop as she has on the tracks to be very hard to head off.
