From Onr Own Corresoondent Daby Carnival. A garden party held at the residence of Air and Airs C. C. AlcDonald in support of the Town Baby was an outstanding success. The weath -r. though fine, was marred by a cold wind, which undoubtedly affected the attendance. The beautiful grounds of "Cedar Hill” were an ideal s.-tting for such a function and the various committees are to be congratulated on the results achieved. Alesdames G. Denbow and W. A. Sawyer did excellent business on the produce stall, while Airs A. Atclndoe and Alisses B. Alogridge and charge of the competitions were Alesdames F. Williams, J. Evans, Messrs F. Purnell, A. Anderson, G. Denbow, A. Mclndoe, I. Jolly, W. Torrens and H. Rayner. A clay bird shoot was conducted by Messrs C. C. AlcDonald and W. A. Sawyer. Special thanks are due to Alessrs Rubery and W. Brant. . The competition winners were as follow: Quoits, Air N. Crabbe; clock golf. Air Arkwright; ladder golf. Airs A. A. Mclndoe; skittles. Airs A. A. Alclndoe; treasure hunt, Mr W. Brant; bag flour. Air F. Purnell; shooting, first match. Air Sawyer; second match, Air N. Crabbe; third match, Air B. Whale; fourth match, Air E. White. The progress report on the voting in the Baby Carnival, up to Saturday last, was: Town Baby 30,000; Country Baby, 20,400.
