From Our Own Correauondent. Library Committee. The annual meeting of the Ashhurst Library Committee was held recently. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs C. Thomson, the retiring president, for her work while in office. The election of officers resulted as follows: President. Mrs J. Flowers; vice-presidents. Mrs Bieakley and Mr W. R. Smith; librarian, secretary and treasurer, Mrs R. D. Davis; trustees, Mr W. N. Brewer and Mrs Davis; committee, Mesdames Thomson. Curtis, Smith, Messrs DunstaJl and B. Fairless. It was decided to hold a dance at an early date. Court Pohangina.
The monthly meeting of Court Pohangiua, A.0.F., was held on Thursday of last week. Sister M. Davis presiding over a good attendance. One member was reported on the sick funds. An invitation was received from Court Hinemoa to their anniversarv social evening. The secretary, P.C.R. Bro. W. R. Smith, reported on the district annual conference held recently in Wellington. I.P.C.R. Bro. Evans was presented with his P.C.R. medal and cer* tificate by the secretary Defence Rifle Club. On Saturday there was a fair attendance of members for the club’s practice shoot over the 300yds. range. The weather was fine though dull, with a front fish-tail wind. Scores were as follow; C. Jones will be pleased to learn that she is making favourable progress after her recent operali<Mrs P. Foot has returned from a holiday spent In the Wairarapa district. Mr and Mrs M. Foot, of Napier, are visitors to Ashhurst.
