Mrs. K. Richardson, of Plimmerton, is on a visit to relatives in the Feilding district.
Mrs. F. P. Fawcett, of Feilding, is spending a holiday with relatives in Auckland.
The many friends of Mrs. W. Hogan, of Apiti, will be pleased to know she is well enough to leave hospital after a serious operation, and is staying with friends in Palmerston North.
The friends of Mrs. R. O. Haddon, No. 3 Carlton Avenue, will regret to learn that she is at present an inmate of Aorangi Hospital and they will wish her a speedy recovery.
The appointment is announced of Miss J. Tarrhnt, matron at the Wellington Boys’ College, to a similar position at Campbell House, the hostel attached to the Otago Boys’ High School. Miss Tarrant has been matron at Scotch College and at the Ladies’ Presbyterian College, both of Melbourne, and Nelson College. She will commence her duties at the beginning of next term.
The friends in Palmerston North of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lancaster, of Christchurch, and formerly of this city, will learn with regret of the passing of their only daughter, Miss Dorothy Lancaster. Miss Lancaster, who received part of her secondary school education ut the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, was a gifted scholar and later accepted an important commercial position.
