Halcombe
From Our Own Corresuondent There was no golf over the week-end owing to the wet weather. The Rangitikei Rugby Union opened the season on Saturday. Halcombe defeated Bulls by 14 points to nil. Messrs H. and D. Walker, and McCullough, of Auckland, spent a few days with Rev. Coombridge, and have now returned to their homes. The sympathy of the district will go out to Mr and Mrs Vile and family in the loss of Mr Vile’if brother, Mr Frank Vile; also to Mrs K. C. Anderson in the loss of her brother, Mr T. Groube, Grey tow 11. Mr D. Managh and his sisters, Mrs N. / Anderson, Mrs Fla veil (Feilding 1, Mrs Smith (Wanganui), and Mrs Stewart (Waverley), motored to Te Awamutu for the wedding of their niece. Miss J. Mekee. The friends of Mr J. W. Young will regret to learn that he is seriously ill. Miss Young. Palmerston North, is staying with her father for a week, and will then proceed to Wellington. Miss Schultz has returned from a visit to Bonny Glen. Mr H. Monk and his son are fishing at Taupo. Miss Ferris, O&maru, who has been staving with her sister. Mrs Fuller, Kakariki, returned home this week. A party of local fishing enthusiasts journeyed to Kapiti Island over the week-end and had good result*
