Sheep Prices Rise

WEEKLY SALE IN LEVIN. Slightly smaller yardings than usual camo forward at this week’s stock sale in Levin. In the pig and cattle sections the prices returned were fully on a, par with recent rates. The entry of sheep, which was comprised mainly of butchers’ requirements, were keenly sought-after and values showed a decided lirming tendency. The benefit which lias been derived from the recent tains was reflected iu the stoic slieeo section, where rates showed an appreciable rise. Sheep: Pat lambs, 19s Gd to 20s 8d; fat hoggets, 20s to 21s Gd; fat ewes, 12s to 13s 9d. Cattle: Fat cows, £3, £3 10s, £4, £4 10s; fat heifers, £5 2s Gd, £6, £6 7s Gd; vealers, £1 10s, £1 15s, £2 16s; runners, £3, £3 ss, £3 10s; store cows, 27s Gd to £2 19s; potter bulls, £5 to £5 7s 6d; springing heifers, £7 ss, £8 2s Gd to £9; heifers (r.w.b.), £4 18s to £6.
