Trades Union Picnic
LENGTHY PROGRAMME Considerable success attended the annual trades union picnic held on the Ashhurst racecourse yesterday. The officials were responsible for the fine organisation of a lengthy programme: — President, Mr. R. Lee; vice-president, Mr. L. Newdick; secretary and organiser, Mr. C. R. Murphy; conveners of committees, sports, Mr. A. Coates; gate, Mr. J. McKenzie; catering, Mrs. A. Thomas; novelty, Mr. A. Collins; advertising, Mr. J. Woodland; transit, Mr. J. Savage; handicappers, Messrs. A. Coates and N. Pilcher; judges, Messrs. A. A. Andrews and F. Francis. Results of races were as follows: Men’s 100 yards handicap, 16-25: F. Davies 1, J. Robinson 2.
