Aurie’s Star, with 9.12, won his second Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield to-day. This is the only occasion the same hors* has won twice. Ajax equalled Carbine’s record of fifteen consecutive wins by brilliantly capturing the St. George Stakes and h« received an ovation. Chief results:— BOND HANDICAP, of £1000; a mile and three furlongs. BUZ ALONG, 9.3 (Shean) 1 Respirator, 8.1 (Bartle) 2 Kingdom, 7.11 (Breasley) .1 Ten started, including Sir Regent. Half a head; three lengths. OAKLEIGH PLATE, of £1500; 5$ furlongs. AURIE’S STAR, 9.11 (Dewhurst) .. 1 Pamelus. 9.10 (Perry) 2 Unishank, 7.9 (Morris) 3 Twelve started, including Stretto, Amiable and Disdain. Auric’s Star unwound a splendid run in the staright and won by three-quart-ers of a length from last year’s winner, Paiuelus, with the South Australian Unishank 1J lengths away 3rd. Racing at Warwick Farm on Saturday, W&ireka recorded a hollow victory by three lengths in the Ingleburn Nurs. ery Handicap despite an outside barrier position, equalling the track record for 54 furlongs of 1.7. The consistent horse, Bed Sails, won the Warwick Feby Handicap, in which Golden Treasure wag unplaced. Linklet was unplaced in the Mint* Handicap. INQUIRY AT TE RAPA RUNNING OF MALAGIGI AUCKLAND, Last Night. Following the running of the Storey Memorial Handicap at the Waikato Racing Club’s meeting at Te Rapa on Saturday, an inquiry was instituted into tho running of the each-way favourite, Malagigi, who finished seventh. The judicial committee sat for a time hearing evidence in the evening and adjourned the inquiry until after tho first raco to-morrow. Other racing news will be found ou page 12.
