Attractive Feilding Wedding Celebrated

GIFFORD—COLES At St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Feilding, an attractive which aroused much interest was recently celebrated, when Kathleen Hutton, youngest daughter of Mrs. A. Coles, of Inglewood, and tho late Mr. W. R. Coles, was joined in the bonds of holy matrimony with Alan, cider son of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Gifford, of Feilding. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. A. E. the bride looked charming in her lovely gown of ivory lace mounted over crea’.j satin, the full skirt flaring into a train edged with pleated net. Her beautiful tulle veil fell softly from a coronet < f orange blossom, while an exquisite shower bouquet of cream roses and sweet peas completed an attractive toilette. In attendance were Misses Margaret Robb (New Plymouth), Doreen Gifford (sister of the bridegroom) and little Betli Nicholls, of Eltham. They were frocked alike in gowns of turquoise chiffon, which featured fully gored skirts, while the bodices were fashioned to form square necklines with rows of shirring. Scarlet shoes, hair sprays and bouquets provided an effective contrast. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. R. Carter, Mr. T. Gifford acting as groomsman. To receive her guests at the reception, Mrs. Coles wore a smart gown rf red earth lacc, with brown taffeia coatee and matching accessories. Her shoulder spray was of roses in apricot tonings. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a distinctive frock of corded trilane in the new teal shade, the sleeves and corsage being effectively embroidered, with gold leaves. A black toque and shoulder spray of apricot gladioli and roses completed her ensemble. For travelling, tho bride appeared in a smart mermaid blue suit, worn with tan accessories. After the wedding reception, Mr. and Mrs. lan Caldwell entertained the many friends of the bride and bridegroom at a dance in the Foresters ’ Hall.
