Pigs, Poultry and Produce

The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Limited, Palmerston North, reports receiving a large entry of pigs at their sale held on Thursday and with a large attendance of buyers a total clearance was made. Porkers were in exceptionally good demand, best heavy sorts realising 45s 6d, 50s to 555, with light porkers from 36s to 40s. Weaners and stores were on a par with last week’s rates. A small increase in the price of poultry was noticeable, with a decided improvement in pullets. Quotations: Pigs: Heavy porkers 45s 6d, 50s to 555; light porkers 36s 6d, 38s, to 40s. ►Stores 25s to 32s 6d. Slips from 15s to 17s. Best weaners from 12s 6d to 15s. Medium weaners 10s to 11s. Small to backward weaners 5s to Bs.
