Winds: Variable at first in- the far north, otherwise moderate to strong north-west to northerly prevailing. Beas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough about Cook Strait and in the far south and rising generally south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate but increasing northerly to north-westerly winds and moderate but rising seas. Weather: Mainly fair to fine at first, but rain in the far south-west and south and generally extending northward over western districts. Temperatures rising.
