Settling World Disputes

AGREEMENT FOR FIVE YEARS (British Official Wireless.) Received Friday, 7.5 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 16. In the absence of denunciation, the next period of five years for which tho General Act for Pacific Settlement of International Disputes runs will begin on August 16. In a letter to tho Secretary-General of the League of Nations, Britain has intimated it will continue after that date to participate in the General Act, subject to’ the reservation that, as from that date, the participation of Britain will not apply should it unfortunately find itself involved in hostilities over disputes arising out of events occurring during war. This reservation applies also to the procedure of conciliation. The Geneva message states France, New Zealand and India have advised tho League similarly.
