Obstacles to Export Trade

CO-OPERATIVE BARGAINING (British Official Wireless.) Received Friday, 7.5 p.m. RUGBY, Peb. 16. Questioned in the House of Commons as to whether, in view of the urgent necessity for removing some of the obstacles in the way of the development of export trade, he would consider the advisability of consulting Dominion Governments as to placing the bargaining power of the Empire on. a more unified basis, Mr. Oliver titanley, president of the Board of Trade, said it was tho constant endeavour of the Government to remove such obstacles and an example of the valuable co-operation between members of the British Commonwealth iohtris the British Commonwealth for thia object in trade negotiations with other countries was furnished by the recent concurrent negotiations with the United States on behalf of this country and Canada respectively, with which cerain other Dominions and India were also concerned. While the scope lor any joint bargaining was necessarily circumstantiated, the possibilities of co-operation, in future cases on the lines of the example mentioned would certainly be borne in mind.
