Awahuri
From Our Own CorrespondentOn a recent evening the Awahuri hall was the scene of much gaiety, when the Awahuri branch of the Labour Party held a successful euchre and dance, there being a good attendance. All present enjoved an excellently arranged function. L'he hall was decorated in autumn-shaded flowers and greenery. A professional orchestra provided gay music for the dan•cs, and tho bright frocks of the ladies provided a splash of colour. The euchre winners were; Ladies, Miss J. Richfield 1, ;rs Bassett 2; men, Mr J. Cribb 1. Mr Te Oka 2. Supper was served by many willing helpers. Competition winners were Mrs L. Oko 1. Miss J. Mcßrearty 2, Mr W. > hafne 3. -Among those present were Mesdames \V. Manson, floral linen; A. .loud, blue lace; Foananga. black silk velvet; Wenham. floral georgette; Waka, champagne crepe de chine: Bishop, blue cocktail suit; Misses L. Johnson, black georgette; J. Mcßrearty, beige lace; E. Hensman, lemon georgette: J. Richfield, green velvet; H. Cowan, blue floral taffeta; E. Lamb, pink floral taffeta; D. Manson, lemon linen; G. Wilson, lemon georgette; E. Polso, canary georgette; G. Elton, lavender taffeta; Mrs E. H. Haj'thorne, black crepe de chine. Mr G. Knowles was M.C. An extra was played
