Dominions Secretary

WELCOME TO OFFICE. LONDON, June 18. The High Commissioner for New Zealand and Mrs Jordan attended a meeting of the Overseas League la London, on tho afternoon of June 13 to welcome

to the New Zealand Group the new Secretary of State for the Dominions, Lord Stanley. The chairman of the group, Colonel Lascelies, ana Mrs Laseelles, were also present, and about 40 New Zealanders.

In welcoming Lord Stanley among uiiem and congratulating him upon his appointment, Mr Jordan said the former Minister, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, who had been a guest of honour of tho New Zealand League a little time ago, had dohe splendid work. Another eminent statesman was now following him in office. In New Zealand somebody had said that every Governor-General was the best, and he was going to apply the game custom in reference to their guest. Lord Stanley, in thanking Mr Jordan and those present, expressed his great i pleasure at being among them, and said how happy he was to follow in the footsteps of Mr MacDonald.
