Four R*kl Bombers Brought Down REBELS NEARING MEDITERRANEAN United Press Association—By PU*ctrie Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 11.35 p.m. BARCELONA, April 13. The Government claims to have driven back the insurgents north and south of Lerida over the river Segre and to have brought down four insurgent bombers. Cabinet has placed all the sources of electrical power under the control of Senor Negrin and has decided to call up for immediate military service three more classes of conscripts, including lads of 17. A Saragossa message says the insurgents are confident of reaching the Mediterranean by Easter. LIQUID FIRE USED BY REBELS GERMAN AND ITALIAN AID BARCELONA, April 12. Eye-witnesses assert that the rebels employed liquid fire on the San Mateo front against the loyalists, who withstood for five hours tank attacks and aerial bombing raid.*. Italian and German flame-throwers wearing fireproof suits and gas masks went into action, filling the front line trenches with burned bodies. •
