Farmer Struck on Head
SHOTGUN AND CARTRIDGES MISSING. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, April 13. A brutal attack was committed on Mr. David James Mclntyre, a wellknown farmer and threshing mill owmer of Digbys Bridge, about three miles from the town at 10.30 last night. On returning home with his wife after an . evening’s absence, Mr. McIntyre heard a movement in the front or the house. On going to investigate he was struck heavily on the head and on raising his arm to ward off another blow, was battered on the hand, one finger being broken. His assailant escaped, as Mr. McIntyre was stunned by the blow on his lit ad. A shotgun and three cartridges were found to be missing.
