Pahiatua-Makuri Dog Trials
PREPARATIONS FOR EVENT Members of the Pahiatua-Makuri dog trials committee have been active recently raising funds to provide for the purchase of materials necessary for the erection of a pavilion and offices for use at further trials. A neat and well-equipped building was recently erected by voluntary labour on Mr. N. J. Beech’s property, the site being lent by Mr. Beech for that purpose, and is one which commands an excellent view of tho hillside over which the trials are run. Record entries are anticipated from from both outside and local competitors for the coming trials. The committee has been fortunate in securing tho services as adjudicator of Mr. J. W. Thorn, of Havelock North, and feels that clemency on tho part of the weather clerk is all that is required to make this trial an outstanding success. Two valuable rose bowls have been added to an already line collection of trophies for competitiou, these having been presented by Messrs. J. G. Brechin and M. McFarlanc.
