The Feilding borough supplementary roll for the forthcoming municipal elections closes on April 27. All residents of tho borough apart from ratepayers and householders are entitled to claim enrolment provided they have lived in the borough at least three months ami have lived in New Zealand at least 12 months and are 21 years of age or over. The franchise for municipal elections applies to all adult persons and in view of the interest in the elections all should make sure of enrolment. At its meeting ou Tuesday evening the Feilding Borough Council decided to proceed with the preliminary steps in connection with the building of the new bridge over the Kiwitea stream on Kim* bolton road. It was announced that the subsidy for this work had been increased to £3 for £1 and Feilding’s share of the cost would be in the vicinity of £I3OO. Mr. R. P. Walsh, of Feilding, who is a patient in a private hospital in Palmerston North, was operated, upon on Tuesday night for eye trouble and was yesterday reported to be making satisfactory progress. Friends of Mr. Walsh will wish him a speedy recovery from his unfortunato affliction. Building permits issued in Feilding during March numbered seven and the value of the work involved was £3670.
