Pahiatua is to lose an all-round nthleto in Mr. Claude Harvey who leaves to take up his duties with the New Zealand Police Force at the barracks in‘Wellington on Thursday. Mr. Harvey for the past eight years has been in the employ of the W.F.C.A. hardware department and was this year’s champion of the Pahiatua Lawn Tennis Club. A first-class footballer, Mangatainoka Club will miss a good forward. No doubt Mr. Harvey, will enter the sporting life of the capital city. Since his admission to the public hospital some weeks ago Mr. “Andy” Tataurangi, who was seriously injured at the Pahiatua liraeworks, has become more comfortable tnd regained much of his usual good spirit, although ho is still paralysed. Pahiatua’s new po3t office is now nearing completion. Two flagposts have been erected, and now there are only a few small cleaning-up jobs to be done. The Postmaster-General, Hon. F. Jones, will perform the official opening ceremony on May 14.
