Will Tell the English People GOVERNMENT WILL BRIGHTEN LOT OF PEOPLE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 12.15 a.in. LONDON, May 4. “We will tell the English people our plan for the new internal policy," said Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, New Zealand Prime Minister, when lauding from the Arawa at Southampton. “The Government feel sure it will brighten the lot of the people. We stand for continued support of the League Covenant, which we believe is still effective. “The New Zealand Delegation will press for a determined effort to rectify the present international grievances and establish relations on the principles of right and justice instead of those of temporary expediency as a means of real and lasting security. “I take this opportunity of affirming the high importance attached to the throne by both Pakeha and Maori and their personal sense of loyalty to the King.’’ Mr Savage and the Parliamentary Coronation party were welcomed at Southampton by Mr W. J. Jordan and Mr Walter Nash and the Mayor of Southampton. They proceeded tp London after breakfast with Messrs Jordan and Nash. MR. SAVAGE DISCUSSES WORLD PEACE. LONDON, May 3. 1 Interviewed aboard the Arawa, Mr. Savage, who will arrive in Southampton on May 4, declared that in the substitution of right for might as the guiding principle of nations lay the only real hope of peace and security. He believed firmly that the world would never have peace until economic and political relations between nations and people were based to a greater extent on the principles of right and justice. Discussing the Imperial Conference Mr. Ravage said that New Zealand (recognised that she played only a small fcart in the affairs of Empire, but nevertheless she was imbued with a jsense of responsibility in discussing important subjects set down on the agenda. Mr. Walter Nash will return by air from Russia to-night, where he will go to Southampton with Mr. W. J. Jordan to meet Mr. Savage. It is understood that Mr. Nash is anxious to discuss with Mr. Savage the recent Press attacks on the New Zealand Government.
