Farewell Party for Mrs R. H. Meade

Mrs R. H. Meade, of Cloverlea Sel tlement, Palmerston North, who leave Wellington to day on a visit to Irelam has been the guest at three jolly part ics recently. The first was held at th home of Mrs T. Leamy, Cloverlea Set tlement, when the Kairanga friends o Mrs Meade gathered to wish her “Boi voyage." This function took the forn of a •cabin” evening, those presen giving Mrs Meade numerous little gift useful in her cabin on the voyage. J. pleasing idea was the presentation t< Mrs Meade of a bundle of letters fron those present, one to be read on even day of the voyage. Enjoyable item: contributed were pianoforte solos bj Miss Z. Leamy (who assisted he mother in her duties as hostess), am accordion solos by Mr D. Young. Mrs D. Buick, of Kairanga, wa: hostess at a “handkerchief” cveninj last Tursday, and she was assiste< by Mrs C. L. Bee. Games arranged b; Mrs Bee (who also donated the prizes were enjoyed, and pianoforte item; were were contributed by Airs Buick Mrs Lola Buick, and Miss Z. Leamy Mrs Meade was the recipient of boxe: of handkerchiefs from thoso presen and of a bouquet made by Airs Bee On Saturday night, at the homo o: Mr and Mrs J. B. Speedy, Botanica road, another bright party was held Mrs Meade was accorded best wisho; for a happy trip.
