Thatched Roof Hangar

CONSTRUCTION FOR DUKE LONDON, Dec. 12. An aeroplane hangar with a thatched roof has been erected on the estate of the Duke of Richmond and Gordon at Goodwood by the Lindsay Neale Aviation Company. It is believed to be the only thatched roof hangar in the country. The object is to ensure that the building ’s appearance fits in with the surroundings. The landing ground used by the Duke of Richmond is about a mile from the racecourse. On it there is a pleasant looking old lodge and it was desired to ensure that the hangar would harmonise with it. The w ? alls are of wood and the sliding doors have glass panels which also aid the appearance. There is room to house six light aeroplanes with' wings folded. It is understood that the insurance company concerned has accepted the hangar for insurance without additional premium as compared with othe* wooden hangars.
