MOTOR PARTY’S MISHAPS. EVENTFUL TRIP IN SOUTH. GREYMOUTH, Last Night. Three accidents befell a party of Christchurch motorists between Picton and Greymouth. They reached Greymouth early on Sunday morning on the back of a breakdown van, with the motor-car in tow. The first mishap occurred on Grove Track, when the car slipped off the road and struck the bank. After an hour's work the vehicle was returned to the road, and the journey was continued. When attempting to pass another car in the Upper Buller Gorge, the wheels of the party's vehicle slipped off the road, and the car, after turning two somersaults, landed in some bracken. One of the occupants suffered a cut on the head, and another was unconscious for a short time. The four doors of the car were torn off, but repairs were done at Murchison, and the trip to Greymouth, via Westport, was continued.

The final accident, which caused the abandonment of the rest of the jourr.er, was a head-on collision with another car in the Punakaiki cutting, about 30 miles from Greymouth. One wheel of each car was torn off, and about 20 cars were delayed for au hour while the damaged machines were shifted.
