Abbott Leads for Chess Championship

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. With only one round to be played H. R. Abbott (Christchurch) is still leading for the chess championship of New Zealand which should bo finalised tomorrow. H. McNabb (Auckland) anu I. Burry (Auckland) are next, each with 7i points, but McNabb has an adjourned game to finish, while Burry has played his twelve games. In the premier reserve tourney Aislabie (Napier) is leading with points and Mrs. Abbott with 91 is second. Aislabio has played all his games, while Mrs. Abbott can tie if she wins the two games she has yet to play.
