Dr. Bradshaw’s resignation was teneffect in March, but it is understood that choristers were given impositions lieved of their duties within a month.
Dean Julius said this morning that he (had nothing to say concerning the matter except that the Cathedral Chapter would not hold a meeting until next month.
Dr. Bradshaws resignation was tendered. it is believed, partly on account of a difference between him and tihe Chapter in regard to the disciplining of choir boys. Some of the boys’ parents are said to have complained that choristers mere given impositions for misbehaving and were kept up late at night writing lines.
It is understood that Dr. Bradshaw tendered his resignation, but the Dean and Chapter asked him to consider the matter for a week. Dr. Bradshaw, however, according to the report, did not withdraw ihis resignation, and it was accepted by the Chapter.
It is stated that the action taken by the adult members of the choir in tendering their resignations was due to sympathy with Dr. Bradshaw.
