Arbitration Court’s Record
COMPLETELY CLEARED UP WORK.
Per Press Association.
WELLINGTON, Last Night.
When the Arbitration Court resumes sitting in Wellington on February 3 it will continue until February 17. The Court then sits at Dunedin on February 19. A remarkable volume of business was put through in Wellington from the time of the hearing of evidence on the basic wage began on October 19 until the holiday recess. The Court heard and made awards in 22 Dominion and 42 local disputes. In addition, it dealt with between 50 and 60 miscellaneous applications, 34 requiring hearing. When the Court rose for the holidays it had completely cleared up the work in hand, and a few compensation cases and disputes not ready for hearing in December will be dealt with between February 3 and 17.
