MARTIN—MEADS. A very pretty wedding of wide interest took plave at St. Barnabas’ Church, Bangiwaliia, on Tuesday, December 22, when Ngaire Doreen, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs S. A. Meads, of “Te Maire. ” Rangiwahia, was married to Ronald Percy, youugost son of Mr and Mrs M. Martin, also of Rangiwahia. The Rev. Langston, a friend of the bride’s family, journeyed from Eltham to perform the ceremony, while Mrs J. D. Ivilgour, sister of the bridegroom, presided at the organ.

The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, the main colours being similar to those worn by the bride.

The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, was attired in a slim-fitting frock of white lace over cream satin with cascades of lace on tho skirt; the cowl neck-line being finished with a white velvet rose. The beautiful veil, which had been lent by a friend for the occasion, was held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms and formed a train. To complete the ensemble she carried a bouquet of cream roses and white gladioli, and asparagas fern tied with white tulle. Two bridesmaids, Misses C. Meads (chief) sister of tho bride, and A. Carey (a friend) were froeked alike in slim-fitting dresses of cream angel skin lace with fully flared skirts; scarlet hats each adorned with a large cream rose. They carried bouquets with scarlet tonings tied with long streamers of scarlet tulle.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr A. Martin as best man and Mr S. Meads as groomsman.

After tho ceremony a reception was held, in the Rangiwahia hall, where Mr and Mrs Meads received over 100 guests. Mrs Meads wore a navy floral marocain frock with hat and bouquet to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy and white ensemble with hai and bouquet to match. A beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, which had been made by Mrs A. Morgan, Snr., and iced by Miss Morgan, held pride of place .on the bride’s table. The bouquets were the artistic work of Miss A. McKenzie.

The bride appeared for travelling in a Marina bluo costume, grey hat and coat, with shoes to tone. Her purse and gloves (grey) were the gift of the bridegroom. The bride’s present to the groom was a set of military brushes. The bridegroom’s presents to the bridesmaids were gold signet rings. After the reception the guests motored to the home of the bride’s parents to view the numerous and beautiful wedding presents, among which were many cheques. Mr and Mrs Percy Martin will make their future home at Kiwitea.
