Rain Developing
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A very slight anti-cyclone is passing to the east of the North Island but a complex depression covers the Tasman Sea area with low pressure centres near Norfolk Island and Tasmania. Winds: Northeasterly to northerly light to moderate at first but freshening, especially in the far north. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight tj moderate but rising later north of East Cape and in the Cook Strait area. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong northeast winds and rather rough to rough seas in the northern portion; moderate but freshening northerlies with moderate but later rising seas in the southern portion.
Weather: Cloudy to overcast in most districts with mist or fog in many places; rain developing soon in the far north and western areas and becoming fairly general within the next day or two; some heavy falls probable in North Auckland. Temperatures: Warm.
