Squally and Changeable
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Westerly depressions continue to move rapidly across the south Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand and a particularly vigorous one is at present approaching. Winds: Moderate to strong northwesterly to westerly of gale force in places, backing temporarily to southwesterly in parts of the southern districts. Seas (New Zoaland waters): Rough south of Capo Egmont and in the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas, moderate to rather rough north of Capo Egmont, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong westerly winds to gales backing at times to south-westerlies; seas rough. Weather: Still squally and changeable with rain in districts . with a westerly aspect and in the far northern and southern parts; some heavy falls probable on the West Coast of the South Island; Mainly fair in eastern districts but a few scattered showers probable especially in the hill country. Temperatures mild.
