Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated August 7, 1936: Frozen meat quotations (prices on a “delivered” basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): — North Island ’Down lambs; 28/361b5., 7 3-Sd per lb.; 36/421b5., 6 7-Sd. Best North Island crossbred lambs: 28/36 lbs., 7d per lb.; 3G/421b5., 6 7-Sd. North Island second quality lambs: Average 30/311b5., 6id per lb. Best North Island wether sheep: Under 48ibs., 5 1-Sd per lb.; 4S/561b5., 4 3-Sd; 56/G4lbs., 4 1-Sd; G4/721b5., 4d. North Island ewes: Under 481b5., 4jd per lb.; 4S/56 lbs., 3:3d; SG/G41b3., 3 5-Sd; G4/721b5., Bid. New Zealand prime ox beef: 160/2201b5., 3 1-Sd per lb. Compared with last week’s quotations ’Down lamb, &6/421b5., and crossbred lamb, 36/421 bs., 1-Sd per lb. higher. Ewes, 56/641b5., 1-Sd per lb. higher. Others unchanged. Tho market for heavyweight lambs is firm. The mutton market is steady.
