HE BLEW UP 100 PEOPLE’S HOMES Because he was annoyed with his sister, 61-year-old Franz Ileenel gave 100 flat-dwellers the fright of their lives by blowing up the Berlin house which he owned jointly with his sister, Biro brigades found tho house on the verge of collapse. The explosion in tho cellar had torn a huge hole in the floor and blown tho staircase up to the first floor. Every one of the 100 persons in the house wAs thrown out of bed. Women and children, seeing their way to safety blocked, appeared shouting for help at the window holes —windows and doors having been blown off their hinges. In tho glare of searchlights firemen brought the occupants down extending ladders to safety. A few minutes after
tho last nad reached the ground half of the building collapsed. Thirteen people vy erc taken to hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile Heenol could not be found. Several hours later tenants of an- adjoining house heard strange noises in tho chimney. Firemen investigated and revoaled a very frightened Heone'l, who confessed that the explosion was all his own work. . -
