His many friends.will regret to hear that the condition of Mr. H. Billcns, senr., of Fitaherbert avenue, is causing grave anxiety. Mr. M. McG. Cooper, "ormerly of Massey College, is the first New Zca lander who has held the offices of captain and secretary of the Oxford University Rugby Football Club, states u London correspondent. Mr. Walter John Elliott, a former chief inspector of secondary education in New (South Wales, who died suddenly at iStrathfield, at the age of 09, was the father of Mr. Ronald Elliott, lecturer in classics in the University of New Zealand, says a cable. News has reached Sydney of the death of Mr. W. J. Douglas, general manager of Fullers Theatres, Ltd.-, whicih ocurred in-London while on a tour. Mr. Douglas formerly represented Fullers in Wellington. He became ill in Berlin and was conveyed to England in an ambulance aeroplane piloted by Hans Bertram, one of the two German aviators who, when lost, in northern Australia some time ago, were rescued under sensational circumstances.

Strathmore; from Christchurch to Blenheim, Mr. D. Smillie, Mr. J. Grant, Miss M. A. Trent. Mr. G. C. Miller, Mr. H. Wall.
