Dull market, light entries and much poor quality yarded. Fat Cattle. A great proportion of this week’s entry comprised poor quality cattle and tended to lower values than last week. Only the best of beet' held its price. Stortford Lodge reports a 10 per cent, decline in beef cattle. Westfield reports still 27s per lOOlbs. for primest beef. Good bullocks at Johnsouville made £lO 10s, extra prime £ll to £l2 Ss. Fat Sheep. Entries largely composed of poor quality sheep. Values steady. Only change reported is iu fat ewes at Westfield, which were up by Is to 2s per head (were previously lower than else where). Now making 23s to 243 for prime heavy ewes. At Stortford medium heavy ewes made 21s to 225; same at Wanganui. Light and second quality lambs only at Stortford made about 20s. Wethers, heavy and prime 26s 6d. Wethers at Westfield, medium prime 28s 6d and to 30s 3d for best. Store Cattle. No entries worth mention all this week. Store Sheep. Little trade except at Stortford Lodge. There some good station lines •were dealt in. Ex Wairarapa station, 2-th ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 35s lOd; 5-yr ewes, 28s lOd. Other lines similar made like prices. Shorn wether hoggets 10s 3d.
