Formation of Police Association

STILL IN PRELIMINARY STAGES Ver Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. ‘'The project is purely in its preliminary stages at present and tliero is nothing that can be said just now,” said the dcputy-Commissioner of Police, Mr R. F. Madden, when asked to-night to comment on the report that the .formation of a Police Association was becoming an actual fact. Mr Madden said permission had been given for members of the Police Force throughout New Zealand to hold meetings to discuss the proposal to form an association, and although, meetings had been held in many places, the full results were not yet completed. A meeting to discuss the proposal was held recently in Wellington and the majority were in favour of the formation of an association.
