The school will enjoy a long week-end, -Monday being a holiday to attend the A. and P. Show and Tuesday the King’s Birthday. The school will reassemble on Wednesday morning. -Mr. K Duthio has returned from a pighunting trip in the YVhongamomina district. Mr. .Duthio reported plenty of sport, there being a largo number or pigs in that locality. Tho weekly shoot of the Miniature Rifle Club was held on Monday night. Tlie district received a great shock when the sudden passing of Mr. William Little became known. Tne late Mr. Little was the eldest son of tho late Mr. and Mrs. Little, who wero widely known and respected as pioneers of the district. Mr. W. Little was born in Christchurch and canto north with his parents at an early ago. Ho engaged in farming pursuits in the Apitl district for some years, moving from there to Paramata, after which he took up his residence in Bunnythorpe about two and a-half years ago. Mr. Bittlo was of a kindly disposition, interested and helpful in the activities of various organisations and more especially with tho school children, often providing transport to enable them to attend sports and football fixtures. The heartteit sympathy of tho whole community will be extended to Mrs. Little and her son living in Hawera., and her two daughters. The funeral will take place on Sunday, leaving the i evidence just prior to 12.45 p.m. tor the Methodist Church, where a servico will be held.
