PERSONALITIES.
Sympathy with the relatives of the late Messrs F. Raikcs (Glcu Orouu) and J. Robinson (Foxton) was expressed by the Manawatu A. and P. Association at its meeting yesterday, the deceased gentlemen having been members. It seems almost certain that the Itcdpath Cup, for the best patting in firstclass matches this season, will tie awarded by the New Zealand Cricket Council to J. L. Kerr, of Canterbury, Ho has easily the best figures of the year for all first-class matches, having made Goo runs at an average of 59.55, with three centuries against the Eng lishraen. The death occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital at an early hour yesterday morning of Mr Robert McKean, the father of Mr A. McLean, of the Village Settlement, Wcraroa, at the ago of 62 years. The late Air McLean, who was a member of a very wellknown family of the Napier district, was predeceased by his wife some three years ago, and has made his home, of recent years, at Wcraroa. llis death followed a serious illness with which he was stricken only a few days ago.
