Marriage Boom Collapses
BE KLIM, Nov. 15. The collapse of the marriago boom, engineered primarily in the military interest of the new Germany, arouses misgivings in Nazi quarters.
It is admitted that in almost every municipality with a population of over 15,000 tho marriage rate in the first six mouths of the present years was lower than in the corresponding period of last year. Birth-rate prospects are declared to be “gloomy” as a result. Despite marriago bonuses and appeals to patriotism the marriage rate now is a shade lower than in 1923, when democracy prevailed. With the worsening economic situation reluctance to marry must grow. Butter queues are longer than, ever and of the 07 kinds of sausages usually to bo had only 31 are now on sale.
