A now member of the Harbour Board in a northern town was attending his first meeting. The board was discussing a proposal to place two buoys at tho entrance to the harbour for tne guidance of mariners. “I beg to propose an amendment,” said tho new member, “that one man should be placed there instead of two boys, as tho latter are too young for such a responsible position.”
