Arrangements being made in Berlin for tho Olympiad in August are on a most elaborate scale. The International Olympic Committee at a meeting in Athens in 1934 approved of the suggestion that the Olympic fire foreseen in tho Olympic statutes should be lit with a torch brought from Olympia to Berlin by a torch relay run. The run will extend over 1837 miles through Greece, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary. Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Germany.
Battlelield pilgrimages are still popular in France. Only three per cent of the visitors are British, France providing the great majority.
