Wedding of Interest at Marton
AITKEN—OLDFIELD A very pretty -wedding vras solemnised at the Marton Presbyterian Church on the evening of September 23, when Myrtle Elizabeth, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Oldfield, of Marton, was married to Cyril Walter, only son of Mr and Mrs. W. G. Aitken, Marton. The eeremony was performed by Rev. D. Mclvor, and Miss Windleburn officiated at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of cream silk Ottoman, cut on graceful lines, trimmed with silver girdle and a soft net veil, slightly ruched, and attached with a small wreath of orange blossom to a silver halo. Her bouquet was of hyacinths, rhododendrons and maidenhair fern.
Miss Olive Oldfield, twin sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and wore a coral pink silk lace frock with hat to tone, and she carried a bouquet of pink hyacinths, rhododendrons and maidenhair fern.
The bride’s mother wore a navy blue floral silk frock, with hat to tone, andshe carried a bouquet of blue hyacinths, anemones and red berries. The bridegroom’s mother wore a brown silk ensemble with hat to tone, and her bouquet was of orange ranunculi, anemones,'ind maidenhair fern.
Mr M. Eade, of Feilding, cousin of the bridegroom, attended as best man. After the eeremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents.
The young couple left for then honeymoon later Toy car, Mrs Aitke? •wearing a brown silk figured ensemble with beige hat, brown shoes and hand- » bag to tone.
