Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Last Night

An intense anti-cyclonc covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while the pressuro is falling over southeastern Australia. AVinds: South-west to- south-east, mainly light to moderate, but strong at first in parts of tho Cook Strait area and on tho East Coast of the North Island.

Seas (New Zealand waters) Rather rough to rough north of Banks Peninsula and in parts of Cook Strait, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate south to south-east winds and smooth to moderate seas.

AVeather: Some scattered passing showers in tho extreme north and north-east, otherwise fine. Temperatures cool to moderate.
