Ridge Road
From Our Own Correspondent
AVeather conditions have been _ most favourable for the last week, with just a slight, cold wind from th© south making itself felt. A happy crowd of picnickers spent a pleasant day at the Oroua river (London’s bridge) on Sunday. In spit© of a cold breeze, there were some who ventured forth into th© icy waters of the river, providing pleasant amusement for those looking on. It was all too soon that an enjoyable day came to an end. The white butterfly is here in millions and the dreadful destruction among the green vegetables is most distressing. Dipping operations on the sheep runs are about finished.
A visitor to the Ridge road is Aliss Phyllis Brown, of Waikanae, who Is spending a week or more with her brother. Air. Ronnie Brown. Air. J. Smith, rabbit and noxious weed inspector, will be away for the week at Alt. Richards to help in laying pollard and make a tour of inspection generally.
