Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild

COMMITTEE MEETING HELD A meeting of the committee of the Palmerston .North Townswomen’s Guild was held in tlio City Council chambers yesterday, Mrs A. E. Mansford presiding. Por tho garden circle Mrs Hartog reported that since last meeting a most enjoyable afternoon had been spent at Mrs Parkcs’ garden, “Parklands,” Main street. There was an attendance of 21 and members had appreciated a talk by Mr Pembroke Ward, of “Gladlands,” Park road, on the cultivation of gladioli. Tho questions asked testified to tho interest. A visit to the Esplanade has been arranged for next meeting. A suggestion to hold a competition for a floral device, following a demonstration, for circle members, to bo judged by popular vote, was approved. Mrs Davidson reported that the play-reading circle continued to grow aud interesting and well-attended meetings had been held. Mrs Renwiclc stated that the arts and crafts circle, had not yet come out of recess and matters were arranged with regard to meetings. Thanks were conveyed to the circle loaders.

Arrangements were made for the March meeting, which will be the annual general meeting. Owing to steadily increasing membership it was resolved to buy further supplies of crockery.
