Auckland Amateur Athletic Titles
RECORD TIME FOR lIURKjES Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 2. The Auckland amateur athletic championships were decided to-day at the Domain. The weather was overcast and the wind was against the ruuners. Finlayson won the 220 yards hurdles in New Zealand record time. W. S. Bainbridgo was outstanding, winning tho 100 yards, furlong and quartermile, all in good times.
Events at Dunedin
PERFORMANCE BY CAMERON Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 3. The Otago track and field amateur athletic championships wero decided on the Caledonian ground yesterday nfternoon in sunny weather conditions, rain ceasing before the meeting commenced. A slight wind affected the performances somewhat. Although the tracks* were on the slow side, the ground was in excellent order. The outstanding performer was the North Otago athlete, A. A. Cameron, who retained the championships in the shot putt, discus throw, broad jump, hop, step and jump, and high jump. In three enses ho broke his own previous records. He won the Cabot cup presented to the competitor gaining most points in the championships. He was also the winner of the cup last year.
New Zealand Championships
OTAGO TEAM CHOSEN Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 4. The following is tho Otago team for the Now Zealand athletic championships:—Mile and three-mile, Fullar; half-mile and mile, McLachian; hammer .throwing, Spillane; high and long jump, and hop, step and jump and discus, Cameron; 120 and 440 yards hurdles, Milner.
