Miss Hilgcndorf, of Palmerston North, has been visiting friends in Masterton aud Pahiatua. Airs. Ax ford, wife of Dr. Morris Axford, has returned to Auckland. She has been the guest of the Misses Matthewson, of Elizabeth street.
At the Waipawa Presbyterian Church the wedding took place on Thursday of Miss Edith Shcwry, Little Hampton, Sussex, England, arid Mr. E. S, Beattie, Woodville. Rev. AV. R. Hutchison, of AVaipukurau, performed the ceremony, and Mrs. Furminger was at the organ. The bridge, who was given away by Air. E. J. Turner, of AVaipukurau, wore an ankle-length frock of powdcr-bluc suedo crepe moulded to the figure, with straw hat, shoes and gloves to match, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and lovc-in-the-mist. AVJion Air. and Airs. Beattie left for a tour of northern Hawke’s Bay tho brido was wearing a navy two-picce suit with hat and accessories.
