Onepuhi Bridge Considered Unsafe

'URGENT NEED TOR ATTENTION

At yesterday’s meeting of the Oroua County Council’ Cr. 'f. Green drew attention to the condition of disrepair of the Onepuhi bridge over the Rangitikei river. Ho said that the structure was in a deplorable condition and really unsafe to carry the traffic now using it. The fear was that it would collapse and many settlers were noiv loath to use the bridge. He felt that the position should be represented to the Main Highways Board with a view to having the structure put in order. Cr. Green suggested a conference with the Eangitikei County Council representatives as a first step towards approaching the Main Highways Board.

The council agreed that the condition of the structure called for investigation, and it was agreed to go into the matter.
